Nantes: drinking tea, cuddling a dog and adopting it is the concept of Adop’thé

cuddle a dog in a living room while sipping and iste and it will soon be possible to eat a vegan dish at Nantes. And the icing on the cake, these pets are looking for a new family.

That is the concept Leila Baillargeau who throws Adop ‘den, dog tea room which provides a new kind shelters for abandoned animals. “I talked about shelters to my friends who wanted to take a dog. But they told me they were not taking this step. adoption shelteredbecause they had a priori at the reception, and at the dogs which are not always highlighted ”, remembers the young woman of 23 years.

It opens in late May

We meet her in the middle of work in her premises which should open at the end of May in 71 boulevard Ernest Dalby. There she intends to bring two dogs which she will already welcome in her home, as a host family, through the association 1000 mustache in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, with which it is a partner.

The goal is for the dogs to find their own family thanks to the encounters they will encounter at the show.

In a tea room, you really see how they are and it highlights them. It will be like bringing my dogs back to work. They accompany me.

The only one in Nantes

It will also be a place to create awareness around adoption. “Okay, he’s handsome, I want to adopt him. But it has to be thoughtful and responsible,” she warns. this place is not unique in France there is one in MontpellierThe tea dog and Little Waf. But he is still the only one in Nantes.

The idea came to him during his studies, even though his project is a long journey. The young woman has always been involved in the cause of the animal.

“I’ve always worked in shelters and I had a dog for 14 years, I grew up with him,” she says, nostalgic for her former companion. His picture is framed in the upcoming living room, which still smells of paint.

She was also interested in their education passed especially Livestock Knowledge Certificate (ACACED).

But it was during his BTS in leadership and leadership at Paris that Leila started thinking about this project. She thus completed a professional license in 2019-2020 in entrepreneurship to draw up your business plan.

This animal lover then launched his project in Nantes. Arrival in August 2020 at the end of her driving license, she experienced her first setbacks. “It took me a year and a half to find a place,” she says.

The particular concept deters some owners. “Some said: there are dogs, it gets dirty,” the young woman remembers.

But some stereotypes were not the only reason.

Approaching the city center will be expensive. Or the premises were too small. It was not easy, I was young, alone, I made my own business. The owners preferred other files.

Knowing that she is self-financing with the help of her family to set up her salon.

But the project still shows up, and here she is in this room located on a fairly busy boulevard. However, it is not in the city center. ” The nearest tram stop is at La Moutonnière. And then all around there are banks. I’m not in the hypercentre, but I’m a block from Commerce, ”she states.

In this very special test room you can sit down and have a tea or a smoothie with a vegan cake while you pet dogs, two at the moment.

One of them is named Osman. It’s “a big loulou”, a German short-haired pointer who was rescued from euthanasia because he was sick and the medicine was too expensive. Incidentally, the association 1000 Overskæg supports the medical part and the health of the dogs entrusted to Leila.

Fifteen people can come

The lounge also offers a corner reserved for dogs only if they need to rest after being asked. For a total of about fifteen people can come and settle down in the living room. A garden is also available for walks with pets on an ad hoc basis.

It will also be possible to buy croquettes and such for canines in the living room. Produced nearby, at Carquefou, at La Meute M & Co ”they are at the top in terms of compositions. It is dried fish and meat. It is protein and has a low fat content. Unlike biscuits, which have no nutritional content, ”she says.

Leila also offers material for dogs like toy or licking mats.

Adopt yes, but not anyway

For adoption, on the other hand, it will not just be a matter of coming and going with a dog. His welcome in a family is verified and tracked.

It will be a classic procedure with a form. We will ask him why this dog, he will really be available, there will be a telephone exchange and visits to his residence.

Meanwhile, the young woman has launched a participatory kitty to help fund her installation. In two or three weeks, she got 800 euros livedn target of 3,000 euros.
