ONE arrest warrant had in fact been necessary to seize Julien XXX, whose appeal is due in July 2022.
In 2018 and 2019, this 31-year-old man hid from justice and disguised his partner’s Peugeot 406 with fake license plates to commit thefts in Louvigné-du-Désert (Ille-et-Vilaine).
He refuses to stop at the police checkpoint
The offenses he is accused of are several: he in particular refused to stop at a police checkpoint in Isigny-le-Buat after driving too fast on the night between 4 and 5 November 2016.
Julien XXX had then finished his run in a post while going to the disco.
Theft of clothing and audiovisual equipment
A resident i Saint-Symphorien-des-Monts (Manche) had also reported a theft in his house. Along with another criminal, the defendant had stolen audiovisual equipment and clothing.
Julien XXX had been suspected very quickly: The same day he had asked her victim if she was selling her television, and she had indicated to him that she was absent in the afternoon …
Theft of diesel near Mortain
In a yard of Our Lady of the Touchdelegated municipality of Mortain-Bocage (Channel), professional equipment and “one hundred liters of diesel” had been stolen and then resold.
Julien XXX had this time been discriminated against because of his genetic fingerprint, which had been found on the spot.
A neighbor shoots a rifle
In January 2019, the young man – still in pairs – had tried to force the door into the hair salon. Refill (Handle) using an iron bar, this time without success.
He and his accomplice then attacked a tobacconist, where they robbed goods worth € 8,000 before they were interrupted by a neighbor … who had fired a rifle to scare them away.
Same thing Cherence-le-Roussel (Manche), where this man, who admits to having “a drug debt”, had broken into a house to steal wood and a hi-fi facility: he believed the victim was in debt to him for “various services” .
Already convicted thirteen times
As a 31-year-old, Julien XXX is no stranger to justice: he has been convicted thirteen times for “property damage,” and two suspended prison terms have been revoked.
To get his release, this father of four had therefore put forward the fact that he trained as a heavyweight rider in an Afpa gym.
Absent at his first trial
The judges did not fail to highlight his absence during his trial at first instance at the Coutances Criminal Court (Manche), where on January 18, 2022, he was sentenced to two years in prison.
“I passed the psychotechnical tests to get into my education,” he replied to them at video conference from Coutance’s remand prison, where he has been incarcerated since March 13, 2022.
Determined to “fix what needs to be fixed”
The Advocate General had therefore opposed any release of this “plunder in the country with whom we visit a good part of the South Channel”: the “repetition” and “plurality” of offenses may, according to him, lead to others.
Julien XXX’s lawyer had pointed out that his client had “decided to decide what to decide” and to put an end to these thirteen years of crime.
“He will have to compensate the victims and with this training he will be able to do so,” he insisted.
I had an uneven ride, but for me it’s over
Under judicial supervision until the trial
Contrary to what the Advocate General requested, the judges of the Correctional Appeals Chamber of the Caen Court of Appeal therefore agreed to place the accused under judicial supervision until the trial against him.
He will have to point to the gendarmerie
Julien XXX will have to settle in Isigny-le-Buat, with his partner and mother of his four children, with whom he has been in a relationship again “since December”.
He must report to the gendarmerie brigade once a week and follow his training until the trial in July 2022.
