Bird flu in Pas-de-Calais: a decree banning the approach of wild birds

All poultry, including backyard poultry, as well as other captive birds, must be kept permanently inside buildings or under nets

No live poultry and no captive birds should leave farms, commercial or non-commercial. Exemptions will be possible by agreement with the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations (DDPP) in Pas-de-Calais, mainly in connection with a direct transfer to a slaughterhouse

The movement of people, livestock and vehicles within the farms must be limited to what is strictly necessary

– DDPP organizes, on every farm in the ZCT, veterinary visits to verify the strict application of protection and biosafety measures. The health status of the animals is checked systematically

Direct sales on the holding of slaughtered poultry and its products are prohibited. However, breeders can continue their commercial activity by selling directly to consumers at local outdoor markets.

During the maintenance period of this ZCT, increased monitoring of the bird fauna will be carried out.
