Being Beast, the festival of animal welfare in Yvelines

The first edition of the Being Beast Festival questions the relationship between humans and animals and raises awareness of animal welfare through various activities, during a festive weekend, June 25 and 26, 2022, in Haras de la Cense, in Yvelines.

For its first edition, the festival to be stupid moved to Haras de la Cense, in Rochefort-en-Yvelinesthat June 25 and 26, 2022. With its astonishing name, the event does not intend to offend its visitors, on the contrary, as it questions the relationship between humans and animals by inviting everyone to reflect on animal welfare and protect nature, with respect for all. On the program, exhibitions, round tables, movie screenings, communication with the horses, enough to spend an enriching weekend!

This festival seeks to show interested parties that a balance is possible between the human and the live, by getting to know the animals and their behavior, just like our pets. A large format outdoor photo exhibition of the series Bestials, Horses and Dogs by Yann Arthus-Bertrand will be offered on site, in the presence of the photographer, as well as a projection by Snow Panther, César for Best Documentary 2022, to observe the animals in their natural surroundings.

Before you actually approach them and can learn to communicate with horses lgold of initiations led by the stud team or to take on a literary ride on horseback! Pony rides with respect for animals for the youngest are also arranged, as well as a film photography workshop, book fair, jazz concert or photographic residency that lasts several months. In case of pickiness, there will be crepes, burgers or wraps on site.

Saturday’s program:

  • 10.00: Film Photography Workshop (phave at registration)
  • 10.00: Literary stroll 2-hour riding in the middle of the forest with the author Florence Robert, shepherdess (55 euros – 6 seats at registration)
  • 10:00: Ethology and horse observation workshop with Deborah Bardou, ethologist (2 hours – 35 euros – 20 seats at registration)
  • 11:00: Demonstration commented by the teams from La Cense: Understanding, education, learning and training of a young person horse (free)
  • 12.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00: Yann Arthus-Bertrand photo studio to take your portrait with your pet (by registration and donation)
  • 14.00 to 17.30: Round tables (free)
  • 17.00: Equestrian demonstrations (favailable)
  • 18.30: Inauguration of the exhibition by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in his presence
  • 19:30: Riding presentation in freedom and in music (bavailable)
  • 20:30: Screening of “The Snow Panther” (gfree – upon registration)


Sunday program:

  • 9:30: Literary ride of 2 hours in the middle of the forest with an author (55 euros – 6 seats at registration)
  • 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm: Yann Arthus-Bertrand photo studio to take your portrait with your pet (upon registration and donation)
  • 10:00: Analog photography workshop (paid upon registration)
  • 10:00: Ethology and horse observation workshop with Deborah Bardou, ethologist (2 hours – 35 euros – 20 seats at registration)
  • 10:30: Demonstration: training of a young person horse (free)
  • 11:00: Riding presentation in freedom and in music (free)
  • 11:30 to 15:00: Round tables (free)
  • 16.00: Ethological riding demonstration (bavailable)
