The Comedy Pet Photography Awards, a competition based in London but open to amateur photographers around the world, announced the shortlist of finalists for the 2022 edition on Thursday 21 July. This cheerful competition created for “celebrate the positive role pets have in our lives“, shows all kinds of animals (including horses, rabbits, llamas, geese, etc.) immortalized by their human friends in fun and often adorable positions.
The 30 finalist photos for the Comedy Pet Photography Awards were selected from hundreds of photos submitted to the competition from 70 different countries. Judges will now have to choose their favorites, who will win the various prizes (6 different categories, including one dedicated to cats and another to dogs), but the public will also be invited to vote for the first time, until August 22nd. The winners will be announced on September 13, 2022.
The competition, which bans any image of an animal wearing clothes or headgear, is sponsored by an English pet insurance company (Animal Friends Insurance), which on this occasion will distribute £ 30,000 (approximately € 35,000) to animal charities and £ 5,000 (€ 5,850). which the main winner can donate to the charity of their choice.
